Philema Makes Top 30 Hospitality Workplace List 2026

‍ ‍

We’re incredibly proud to share that Philema Hospitality Management has been named in The Caterer Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2026 Top 30 list, a recognition that reflects the culture we continue to build across the business.

Held in partnership with Korero and sponsor Umbrella Training, these awards celebrate hospitality businesses that put their people first through strong employee engagement, wellbeing support, staff retention, and continued investment in training and development. Now in their twelfth year, they recognise organisations that are creating positive, rewarding places to work.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that the rankings are shaped by anonymous employee feedback gathered by Korero, offering a genuine reflection of how our teams feel about working at Philema.

We were pleased to see strong results across several key areas of the survey, including accurate and fair pay, with employee feedback also recognising the support offered by HR and managers.

This recognition reflects our continued commitment to supporting employee wellbeing. As part of that, we recently launched the Philema Wellness Programme, designed to support the physical, mental and financial wellbeing of our teams. The programme includes 24/7 GP and counselling support, team activities that encourage connection, and financial wellbeing tools such as earned wage access, budgeting support and discounts on everyday items.

“With the ongoing cost of living pressures, wider world events and the demands of hospitality roles, we wanted to go beyond traditional benefits we currently offer and create something that supports the whole person,” said Stacey Le Gallez, Head of HR.

Alongside our wellbeing initiatives, we continue to invest in employee recognition and long-service rewards. Now in its fifth year, the Philema Hospitality Management 6 Monthly Rewards Afternoon Tea celebrates team members nominated by managers for going above and beyond, showing dedication, reliability and all-round “fabulousness”.

We also take pride in marking long-service milestones. Employees receive afternoon tea for two after one year of service, dinner for two after three years, and an additional day of annual leave for every year from five to 15 years of service. Each year, we also host a dedicated Length of Service Achievement Dinner for employees reaching five, 10, 15 or 20 years with the business.

Our people are at the heart of every hotel in the Philema portfolio, from Boringdon Hall in Devon to The Esplanade Hotel, Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa, and Budock Vean Hotel & Spa in Cornwall. Their dedication and care are what drives our shared success, and making this Top 30 list reflects our continued commitment to supporting, valuing and investing in our teams.
